Tuolumne County: (209) 533-5598
San Joaquin and Stanislaus Counties: (877) 429-2876

Ensure that piles from landscape debris are no larger than 4-ft. in diameter, have a 10-ft. clearance
to bare soil around the burn pile and that a responsible adult attends all times with a water source
and a shovel.

Safe residential pile burning of forest residue by landowners is a crucial tool in reducing fire hazards.
State, Federal and Local land management and fire agencies will also be utilizing this same window of
opportunity to conduct prescribed burns aimed at improving forest health on private and public lands.

If you have any questions, you can reach out to your local fire department at (209) 286-1389.
