Mokelumne Hill Volunteer Firefighters’ Association
September 17th 2008
Called to order: 1814 by Michelle Roeber, President
Members present: Brenda Brown, Debbie, Shore, Lila Serros, Pauli Greer, Lynne Greer, Mark Ksenzulak, Mike Moran, Allison Tesch, Stephanie Truelsen, Michelle Roeber, Heather Willats, Sloane Dell’Orto, Kathy Dell’Orto. A quorum is present.
Previous Meeting Minutes: Minutes from August 2008 read by H. Willats. Motion to approve minutes as read Mark David, 2nd by Stephanie Truelsen. A unanimous vote.
Treasurer’s Report: Checking: $9,393.47, Savings; $3,843.04, 6 mo CD: $5,256.83, 12 mo CD: $11,017.90, Total: $29,511.24. Brenda mentions we still owe Tina who baked cupcakes for appreciation event $50.00. Bill for appreciation event from Pickle was $600.00. Gretel Tiscornia who owns Pickle provided a significant discount from previous estimate. Heather to get card and write thank you letter.
2 donations towards memorial for John Peterson were received in amount of $75.00.
Motion to approve the treasurers report as read: Stephanie Truelsen, 2nd Sloane. Unanimous
Old Business: Jump drives were purchased. Sloane discusses putting minutes on line.
Appreciation event: Brenda discussed the fact that the event was a great party however felt that the firefighters were not really acknowledged. Would like to know who the firefighters are and maybe we can have a liaison between board and assoc, possibly invite the whole town to assist in appreciation event next year.
New Business:
Sloane purchased a new iphone!! Would like to be reimbursed from training money and has submitted receipt to Mark David. Has $517.91 in training funds. We will tally training from April to current and give 2nd check. Motion to approve H. Willats, 2nd Mark David. Unanimous.
Mark and Chief have talked about the past training funds for people who no longer respond to training however still have funds in coffers, discuss removing them from roster so those funds can be disbursed between remaining firefighters who do respond. Mark and Chief to meet and discuss further.
Sloane discusses 2nd mailer to push address markers for town with cadets pushing the public and taking the lead on the campaign for that.
Town is doing Christmas on the 13th and 14th
Kathy Dell’Orto would like the Association to sponsor a boy scout troupe here in town. All they need is a sponsoring organization. Motion to approve the Association as sponsor H. Willats, 2nd Sloane. Unanimous!
